PRESIDENT BUHARI SHOCKS NIGERIANS

Image
President Muhammadu Buhari Nigerians who had probably waited to hear a bombshell from President Muhammadu Buhari as he addressed the nation this morning must have been shocked. This was the observation of journalism teacher, Dr. Mao Austin, in an analysis monitored on Radio Nigeria. Austin said Buhari’s speech was “well and okay, having taken care of Nigerians’ concerns about the state of the nation, especially the insecurity and agitations for the renegotiation of national unity. He noted that Nigerians must have been shocked that the President did not address the issue of cabinet reshuffling, saying he might look into that as he settles down to work. Austin also expressed the hope that Buhari would ‘tackle’ those who undermined Prof. Yemi Osinbajo who had acted as the president during his absence. Austin reminded Buhari of the need to be focused on the twin issues of his campaign — fighting corruption and securing Nigeria, saying if he could success...

Outcome of meeting between Asuu and Federal Government

Image
A meeting between the Nigerian government and university lecturers has ended without a resolution of the nationwide strike called by the union on Monday. The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, began a nationwide strike this week, over demands for improved funding of universities and welfare of lecturers. An earlier meeting with the government was also unsuccessful. Thursday’s meeting began at exactly 3:42 p.m. in Abuja. In his opening remark, the Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige, said ASUU did not follow the proper procedure before starting the strike. “There must be a mandatory letter of 15 days to labour, to education before going on strike,” he said, referring to the ministries of labour and education. “All agreements are supposed to be domiciled in ministry of labour in order to track implementation as agreement gives room to renegotiation,” Mr. Ngige. In his response, the president of ASUU, Biodun Ogunyemi, said Mr. Ngige had taken side wi...

Using updated machine learning technology, Facebook said it can now identify a higher volume of potential hoaxes on the social network and direct them more quickly to a group of third-party fact checkers. If fact checkers review a story, Facebook may proactively show users a unit of related articles below the original post that debunks its claims or offers relevant context. The related arti...

Open letter to the Office of the Acting president {Prof Yemi Osinbajo} through the office of the minister of Education to reinstate the Students Union Government of the premier University of Ibadan {The Exodus}

Image
        Dear Sir, CHARTER OF DEMANDS IN VIEW OF WORRISOME DEVELOPMENTS IN THE UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN We, from the University of Ibadan Students’ Union, hereby write to your estimable office with the hope of bringing to your attention and appealing for your intervention with respect to the administrative quagmire presently besetting us as an institution. On the 29th day of May, 2017, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka, unilaterally declared by midday that all undergraduate students were to vacate the premises before 6pm on the same day. This declaration, which not only contravenes the university regulations but is also at loggerheads with the legal principle of “reasonable notice”, is similar to another of the Vice Chancellor that took place on the 26th of April, 2016, where he ordered students to vacate before 4pm. The following day, the University Senate held a sitting after which all activities of the Students’ Union we...

Ojo made this declaration while addressing a joint press conference organized by the union’s executive council and the Students Representative Council of the institution on Thursday in Ibadan. Ojo who was flanked by Secretary of the union, Comrade Uchechukwu Augustine and Speaker of the SRC Comrade Ibrahim Asiwaju said it was wrong for the Vice Chancellor to make such statement without Senate approval which he said was against the university regulations. Image
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has been confirmed dead in London where he was receiving medical treatment. President Buhari flew to London from Abuja last Sunday for follow-up medical consultations with his doctors where he unfortunately died. He had been to London twice since last year for the same medical reason. Speculation has been rife that his health had deteriorated badly, but he attended last Friday prayers to douse such grave insinuations. His special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, disclosed in Abuja that President Buhari had planned to leave Sunday afternoon, but decided to tarry a bit, due to the arrival of 82 Chibok schoolgirls in Abuja earlier in the day. According to Adesina, the length of the president’s stay in London was to be determined by the doctors, saying that the government will continue to function normally under Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo. “President Buhari has transmitted letters about the trip to the Senate and the House of Repres...

Banky W engaged to Adesuae tomi

Image
From a message gotten from adesuaetomi herself  -  I went to an event in 2015 and I suppose that was the beginning of something amazing  because once  banky saw me, he decided that he was going to be my biggest fan. He slid into my DM and sent the funniest message and that was how we became friends. At the time, I wasn’t interested in anything but a friendship and he was very respectful of that and so we stayed just friends for about a year and a half. Our friendship opened my eyes to a lot of things. Opened my eyes to the type of man Olubankole is and WHAT A MAN. WHAT A MIGHTY GOOD MAN. Olubankole, Your Heart is pure and good, to the very core. You are proof that God is real, you are proof that what’s on the inside is greater and so much more powerful than what we see on the outside and you are the evidence of what I hoped for. I bless God for entrusting my heart in your hands because I know it’s safe. You are everything i prayed for and so much more. Thank yo...

YOUTH TODAY PART 2

     YOUTHS TODAY (part 2)    Hi five to all youths out there. I trust we have learnt one or two things from the first part and am hoping you will learn from the concluding part too.    In addition, youths of today are different from the olden days youths in term of dressing. Most youths noe dress flashy and seductively. Ladies nowadays are fond of wearing revealing and body tight dresses while, guys too sag their trousers all in the name of fashion. Am not against fashion, but modesty is required in all that we do. Like I love to say "kudos to all youths out there that dress decently and still stay attractive" The question an individual should ask him/herself standing in front of a full length mirror is that- will what am wearing offer me a job or contract? Will it make people to respect, honor and value me? If the answer is NO, then get that cloth changed!    Also, looking at it from the aspect of how we treat our fellow human beings, m...

Exclusive write up concerning youth's today from xclusive mind Temidayo

                          YOUTHS TODAY.    A youth is a young adult. According to Arcus dictionary youth is the time of time of life between childhood and maturity. A youth is vigorous, fresh and easily influenced. Today simply refers to the present time or age.    Youths of today are totally different from the youths of olden days. The difference is so clear in terms of dressings, social life, way of living, aproach and lots more. Most youths believe because we are now in the technology and jet age, they are free to do anything without considering the consequences they are likely to face.    One of the problems affecting the youths of today, is the inability to balance and schedule their time and day to day activities. Looking at it from the Education system, most youths don't put in their best, but they do so when it comes to social activities. Note, am not against social activities. Soci...
