As the ball dropped, the New Queens were announced and a new title was introduced to MCA by the organizers(PwoAfriq), Contenders were divided into various categories and a New Queen emerged. _My name is Ibukunoluwa.PwoAfriq Miss Popularity 2017,am from Ondo State,okitipupa to be precise. I was born on the 6th of July 1999. I attended Ehinmosan nursery and primary school and later proceeded to Christ the Redeemer's International Secondary School Akure,am currently an accounting student of Wesley university Ondo_

*HOW DID YOU FEEL WHEN YOU WERE CROWN MISS POPULARITY?*

_I was happy,since MCA was the first competition i would be going for outside the academic world and I came out as one of the winners. I was very glad I didn't let my family and friends down._

*NOW THAT YOU ARE MISS POPULARITY, WHAT'S YOUR PLAN FOR PWO AFRIQ AND LADIES OUT THERE?*

_I hope to publicize Pwoafriq ,letting people in the outside world know more about the organization and making ladies know they can achieve more and shouldn't be afraid of trying new things,especially when they believe in themselves_

*WHAT'S YOUR VIEW ON MCA ORGANISED BY PwoAfriq, IS IT A SCAM? WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE SINCE THERE WAS ACTUALLY A SCENE CAUSED BY SOME CONTESTANTS ON INSTAGRAM DURING THE CONTEST.*

_MCA an acronym for Miss Candor Awards, a simple phrase which stands for MISS CANDOR AWARDS. The scene that happened on Instagram was bound to happen in a contest,I believe a contest is a game of luck,its not what you think but what people see in you,but only a few people understands that. MISS CANDOR is not a scam but I guess the only thing left out is for the organizers to carry the contestants along whenever there is a case like that, twas strange to everyone until we heard the main reason for the disqualifications._

*Now that your first attempt for doing something different from your academics was actually successful, where do you see yourself in the next five years?*

_(LAUGHS) I actually see that great woman in me. I believe so much me in myself,with the help of the lord i see my self in high places like a chartered accountant, a role model to youths,also as a large commercial model._

Outcome of meeting between Asuu and Federal Government

A meeting between the Nigerian government and university lecturers has ended without a resolution of the nationwide strike called by the union on Monday. The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, began a nationwide strike this week, over demands for improved funding of universities and welfare of lecturers. An earlier meeting with the government was also unsuccessful. Thursday’s meeting began at exactly 3:42 p.m. in Abuja. In his opening remark, the Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige, said ASUU did not follow the proper procedure before starting the strike. “There must be a mandatory letter of 15 days to labour, to education before going on strike,” he said, referring to the ministries of labour and education. “All agreements are supposed to be domiciled in ministry of labour in order to track implementation as agreement gives room to renegotiation,” Mr. Ngige.
